Jan Bayford

Business Owner and Manager

Jan has worked as an accountant for more than 30 years and has been involved in the design and implementation of computerised financial systems since they first arrived in the UK.

She has worked with global companies like SSL International plc, famous UK brand names like Silentnight Group, arts organisations like Serious and pioneering social enterprises like the Out of this World ethical supermarket chain. She also worked for several years as a Small Business Consultant in London helping people set up new businesses and doing accounts and tax computations for people in the arts.

As well as specialising in Finance, she has considerable experience in using all of the Microsoft ® Office suite (including Access Database development using VB6); Sage 50 and 200; Microsoft ® Visio, Microsoft ® Project, JD Edwards, PeopleSoft, Windows XP and Vista, Serif Page Plus and many other applications. She can provide training in Microsoft ® Office for both PC and MAC.

She has done everything in the office from operating the switchboard through making the tea to being the boss and understands how businesses work and how they fail.

She is a keen environmentalist and campaigner for the developing countries and has a Diploma in Environment & Development from the Open University.

Jan is a member of the Virtual Assistance Chamber of Commerce 

and of the International Association of Virtual Assistants
